My client’s Security Assurance team reports directly to the board and isn’t an internal audit function, the team is all ex operations. They really get under the skin of what is actually happening and why the business is doing something a particular way.
You will join a small team in a fast paced environment and the hiring manager needs people who have already built experience in security both from a technical side and ideally some exposure to security risk management and who are wanting to apply that in a review and assurance type role.
To be successful in this role, you need experience in operations design, security design, or architecture and are now looking to move into a role where you are not actually doing that work and producing it, however keen to apply your experience to review what the business is doing and report on that.
One of the advantages and challenges of this role is that you need to build and maintain a broader view of the technology state and keep up with the changes.
Technical background and technical review experience are going to be required. The focus for this role is on technical skills with some exposure to risk and the fundamentals of security risk.
To have the best chance of being successful in this role, you will come from a mid sized, fast paced environment and worked in house and know how things work on the ground. If you have a mix of experience and some consulting this would help but real world experience of how businesses do security is the most important.
Hybrid out of London.
