Commercial Lawyer – Data Privacy Permanent

We are supporting a Partner of one of Ireland’s leading law firms to hire for their Corporate department Data Privacy team. The best way to describe the position, is a commercial contract role doing data privacy. The Partner of this function is a brilliant leader and puts a lot of trust into the team, which allows you to run with projects yourself and take accountability.

The team works with public and private sector clients and you will be working on a lot of small projects at once, so it’s important that you have the ability to shift between projects and possess first class communication skills. You will assist the Partner and help with the NQ who is joining the team and become the right-hand person to the Partner.

My client is happy to look at candidates currently working for another law firm on working in house, as long as you can demonstrate ambition and drive.

I would describe the priority of skills in the following order:

1. Commercial Drafting skills
2. Good legal research and analytical skills
3. Data Protection knowledge. The Partner is very happy to train someone on Data Privacy as long as you have strong commercial drafting skills, however, knowledge and experience already advising of data privacy regulations is preferred.

Although the preference is to find someone already living and working in Dublin, my client can support a lawyer looking to relocate to Ireland as long as you are willing to take the QLTT exam.
